ANOTHER WAY OF SEEING THE WORLD FROM THE POINT ALL LOOKS DIFFERENT, WE USE A SMALL HELIUM BALLOON TO POSITION OUR CAMERA AT THE HEIGHTS THIS IS THE RESULT
AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO
(ICARUS I) USING HELIUM BALLOON
Video and photos from height
It has always been interesting to have photographs from a height of our house, cottage, or somewhere, but due to the prohibitive costs of traditional systems that we had never crossed his mind to have that possibility.
With small size equipment easy to build and by the use of small tethered balloons with helium, we can place the camera in the most appropriate place to get that photo that highlights or allow better precision visualize those who would show, the really interesting thing is its low cost of construction and operation.
That is
Basically the camera is installed on a platform that is suspended from a tethered balloon to the ground. The camera is adjustable thanks to RC, by a video transmitter-receiver circuit we can see exactly what the camera sees, to choose the best frame and get a perfect picture.
All you need are the appropriate weather conditions are logically good sunlight and calm winds not exceeding 15 km / h to operate safely.

Team Icarus I for aerial photography
The first design, entirely developed by me is very light (411 grams including camera), allowing the use of a smaller balloon and thus savings in gas consumption. The RC system is 2.4 Ghz avoiding interference.
The remote video equipment shows exactly the image captured by the camera and all of its parameters, displayed on a large 7-inch TFT display with 800 mw of power has a range of 1 km. The quality of the images achieved with this latest generation ultra-compact camera is truly amazing, the 12 megapixel display high quality images, plus the 8 x optical zoom allows us to approach the detail we want to highlight.
The autonomy of the system about an hour makes available all the time necessary to find the most suitable frame.

Here we see the clamps mounted to the balloon, the balloon is partially inflated in the image
Applications
Actually there are countless applications of aerial photography, among the most common are:
Monitoring of civil works, bridges, roads, communication hubs, ports, advertising of hotels, apartments, houses, archaeological remains of a cultural, historical buildings, sports facilities, for individuals, houses rustic houses, boats, agricultural facilities, locations ,
The first flight of Icarus I was on the sea, flying over the Campomanes Port in Altea

Team Icarus II for video aereal
Looking for a camera to 1080p HD video at a good price and lightweight, the Sony Bloggie appeared as the best option, especially because it has a video output in real time to see exactly what is being recorded at the time, the most cameras do not have that function and in our case is critical because if we are not seeing what we can hardly recorded record what we see and remember that the camera is located far away from us so that only the signal comes the video monitor, and do not even know the camera is oriented, its low price makes it also a good option.

The team also developed entirely by me for this camera is even lighter than the first (340 grams including camera), allowing the balloon using a higher altitude, you get a more upright as the lift off (buoyancy ) is much greater, in addition to using monofilament thread for fastening the balloon reduces the weight so you can achieve an impressive height.
The same remote video equipment used in the Icarus I shows exactly the image captured by the camera and all of its parameters, displayed on a large 7-inch TFT display with 800 mw of power has a range of 1 km. The video quality of this Sony camera is very suitable here you can watch videos of great beauty achieved with the same, the system also allows for 5-megapixel photos without having to pick up the camera, everything can be activated from the ground with the balloon in the air.
The only problem encountered with this camera is its tendency to apagarser automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity (non-programmable function in addition), it was very annoying because the balloon had come down to turn on the camera if it turns off automatically. Solution was added to a microserve to click on the playback, the camera so you can remotely turn on and there because if you pick to light was turned off accidentally, that microserve is marked in the picture on the left with a blue circle.
Videos are shown as the platform and integrates the camera and some video obtained with the same
